Q: What exactly is the club about and how does it work?
A: The club will take place in a private facebook group. It's for busy moms who want to learn some healthy tips and gain motivation to live a little bit healthier than they are right now, and to help implement healthy habits into their hectic schedules.
There will be daily posts in the group that will include motivational quotes, healthy tips, videos and lives on many different topics, ideas for you to implement at home, different challenges to participate in if you choose to, and so much more!
Q: Why did you decide to start this group?
A: After completing my certification as a health and life coach, I was amazed at how differently I looked at my own health and saw a huge need for other busy moms to have this information.
I used to think it had to be an all or nothing approach - I had to give up sweets, eat only healthy foods, hit the gym and drink all the water if I wanted to feel "healthy". Now I know it's all about simple lifestyle habits that anyone can do and can make such a huge difference without being overwhelming!
Having this group will allow me to help many moms rather than just the few that I work with one-on-one (although one-on-one coaching is still an option for those who are needing that extra support).
Many of us are overwhelmed with the idea of getting healthy and feel that we don't have the time (because let's face it, we don't have any extra time), but we are thinking about it all wrong. The diet industry has brainwashed so many people into an all or nothing mentality, "good" vs "bad" foods, and the idea that deprivation = results.
I really want to be able to show moms how making simple changes to our lifestyle and habits can make big differences in our health and the way we see ourselves (and it doesn't have to be scary or overwhelming!)
Q: What will I get out of it?
A: Motivation and ways to live a healthier life without adding another thing to your plate. Depending on how much you engage in the group and try things out, you will find ways to gain more energy, get better sleeps, eat better, new recipe ideas and cooking tips, ways to get the family involved, and just be healthier in general.
Q : Are you going to tell me what I can and can't eat or drink? Do I have to give up my favourite foods and drinks?!
A: Heck NO! I will share healthy eating tips and some recipes or ways to cook certain things, but these are just for your information. You take what you want and leave the rest This is NOT a specified program you have to follow.
It's all about balance and moderation! Life is short, we don't need to deprive ourselves
Q: Do I have to participate and engage in the group?
A: That is totally up to you! Some people are happy to sit and watch quietly what goes on in the group and take what they want from it, while others will want to engage more. While engagement is obviously encouraged (it's what keeps the group exciting!) you might want to use the group strictly as a source of information to learn new tips, ideas, recipes, etc.
Q: Can I post a question to the group?
A: Absolutely! This is encouraged since it gets everyone networking and we can all help each other out. There will probably be many "experts" in the group and we all have something we can share with others that could help someone else.
Q: What if I'm already pretty healthy? Will I get anything from the group?
A: There is always room to improve in any area of our life, so I'm confident you will still benefit from the group. Also, if you consider yourself a healthy person with good habits, then chances are you have a lot you can offer to the group as well and you will be someone that others can look up to!
Q: What kind of topics will be covered?
A: A big focus will be on simple ways to change our habits for the better. How to make healthier choices, simple ways to cook our food so it's healthy but still tasty, easy dinner ideas, ways to drink more water, sleep tips, self care ideas, etc.
Q: Do I have to be a mom to be in the group?
A: No, you don't have to be a mom. Since I am a mom and can relate to the struggles of "busy mom life", I have geared the club toward that, but anyone can benefit from the healthy habits and tips in the group!
